A Daily Practice….makes “Perfect” - Activate your secret weapon
by Melinda Lee

Nurture the Feminine Soul on a daily basis and see how the softness creates an essence that just may be your missing link

We each have a concept of what a perfect woman might look like…her life would be effortless, she’d move with grace and she’d have abundance. Of course she’d be happy and joyful and full of love. She’d find a way to juggle all the things that need to get done and she’d have time for herself. We can mentally paint the picture of what that perfect scenario might look like; yet many of us find these qualities elusive…beyond our reach. We struggle often doing too much, striving for perfection and we’re seldom satisfied. A low-level grumbling of discontent silently drains us as we move toward each goal that we set wondering why as we reach the goal we lack a smile on our face. Could it be that there are so many new goals layered on top of this goal, that it’s hard to bask in any accomplishment? Or, are we just too busy to even notice that we actually accomplished something? The constant doing can be exhausting.

Consider that you may not be using your secret weapon. That activating this secret weapon can create a flow that was heretofore unavailable to you. It may sound bizarre but ask… “Am I acting like a man or a woman?”

Masculine energy is all about doing and action. So what do we as women do…we often act like men - pushing, struggling, working hard to accomplish our goals. In fact our entire culture is focused on doing…we evaluate our worth by how much we do versus how happy we are. When we meet someone we ask, “What do you do?” not, “What makes you happy?” And, if we stop to regard this, what is really more important?

Now, consider feminine energy as a bold receptor giving birth to the new. The “feminine” is about creativity. And, tapping into that energy and creativity is the course toward the effortless perfection that many women yearn for in their lives. Voila, the secret weapon.

According to recent astrological events, Mars (masculine energy) is retreating, and Venus (feminine or Goddess energy) is approaching marking the return of feminine power. An actual event (June 8, 2004) was the Venus Passover an occurrence that happens only once every 120 years. In Christianity the Venus-Sun Passover symbolizes the return of the Christ Consciousness. Christ was a messenger of love and wisdom, light and knowledge. Venus is like a Holy Grail in the stars holding the power of the feminine, the power of love, and the power of abundance. Our Sun is a powerhouse of lighted divine wisdom. When the two planets crossed paths it gave us the ability to take all relationships, intimate and otherwise to the next higher level. This in theory means the “way” will be with love, wisdom, kindness…not greed, ambition and conquering.

So what does it mean and how is it possible for an everyday Goddess, like you and me, to be able to shift and tap into our Venus or feminine energy? And, when you do, what can you expect?

To tap into this unbounded energy you must be different than you are now. You must see that it’s possible to have a life of abundance and this can be achieved by being versus doing. To accomplish this you have to nourish from within, you have to give birth to this new energy and honor it with self-love. Instead of taking the energy and pulling it in so many different directions that it has to snap, you take in the energy and feed it daily.

The first step is to the best of your ability dig deep and dump the junk; the ego, the programs and assumptions that hold you back from expressing your true authentic self. Purge any dis-harmonic energy, relationship or event in your life. Be sure to clear out any emotional entanglements. Get yourself completely clear.

As women we tend to give so much of our energy to others, helping them (insert-husbands, children, friends, etc.) to move forward to reach their dreams. This feminine quality that drives us to help and nurture others is a powerful quality and when harnessed can be used to help us achieve our own dreams/perfect life. It’s the gas mask in the airplane concept. It’s a, “Me first, so I can then be whole and good for you!” approach.

This shifting, and letting go of the negative forces and energy drainers is easier than it sounds. Women have been wired to do, and to be, for others for most of our lives so we have to really want a different result to take the essential steps. It may be necessary to get professional help, from a psychiatrist, therapist, energy worker, coach, etc. in order to release the hold that may be keeping you from fully stepping into the feminine divine and tapping into the power that lies within. Make the decision to take whatever steps are required.

Once this is accomplished, a simple and in my opinion not-optional step toward accessing the feminine is the creation of a daily practice. Go back to the gas mask in the plane example. By self-nourishing, by breathing in the oxygen we now have the reserves to help others breathe. We live and they live. By slowing down the doing and exchanging this efforting for being we allow our genius, our feminine to obtain the necessary nourishment to develop.

Each day we make conscious or unconscious choices that fill us up or depletes us…I’m suggesting that a 30-minute daily practice to simply “be” is the best investment we can make in ourselves to have all we want in our life. By taking the time to get quiet, connect with our body and inner wisdom we actually feed our Goddess within allowing her to grow. As she grows we will almost magically attract the people and circumstances into our life that will create the results that we want. We become the receptor, receiving all that we desire. Yes, it sounds too easy. But what do we have to lose? If it works we will have found a secret weapon that makes our life work with grace, ease and elegance. If we don’t try it we’ll never know and continue efforting and getting the same old results. So take the 60-day challenge!

As a support I suggest buying The Success Book, by John Randolph Price and follow the book for 8 weeks. Use it as part of a 30-minute daily practice activating the Christ Consciousness and the Goddess energy simultaneously… ready to achieve these powerful results?

Begin by asking what results are desired:

I want to be more energized…

I want to be more heart-centered…

I want to be more at peace…

I want more joy…

I want to feel more secure financially…

I want to feel more love in my life…

First, rephrase the desire in the assumptive… “I am” or “I have.”

Next, make the decision and schedule in a daily planner 30-minutes each day to do your daily practice. Recently I created Spoga™ a 30-minute mind/body workout that has become a daily practice of many women; if you don’t have the time or inclination to create a unique practice it may work for you, visit www.spoga.org for details. Or, you may want to create a daily practice that is unique and perfect for your ever-changing needs.

For example, I was going through a divorce and felt off-balance, out-of-control, fat and un-loved. So, I created a practice that would help me to connect with my spirituality, to feel whole and grounded and loved no matter what was happening in my tumultuous life. The conscious breath work, grounding exercise and meditations were key to my sanity. My version of The Five Spogans gave me enough physical activity to keep my body fit and to feel attractive, because both physical and spiritual fitness are a top priority for me.

Where do you begin? Think about what feeds your soul….for some it’s connecting with nature so a portion of the daily practice might include a walk on the beach, hugging a tree or arranging flowers in a vase. Quiet time may be nurturing to your soul, so your practice may have a portion devoted to meditation, prayer, journaling or creative visualization.

Consider these components as part of your daily practice:
Breath work…from Relaxation Response to Breath of Fire
Ritual…lighting a candle to signal the beginning and end of your practice or sounding a gong
Inspirational reading…this can come from the Success book for the first 8-weeks.
Physical Activity…yoga, The Five Spogans, one-mile jog on the beach, dancing
Meditation…Susie Levan’s guided meditation tape, Meditations for a Peaceful Heart is my favorite.
Nature Connection…walks with mindful meditation…use all your senses as you experience your walk
Sensuality…touch, taste, smell… “Simple Abundance” is a great tool written by Sarah Ban Breathnach.
Fun…make a list of what puts a smile on your face…if it’s playing with your puppy or dancing around the house, incorporate this into your practice.
Routine…you may find it calming and reassuring to have a set practice that you don’t have to create anew each day.
Variety…you may get bored easily. Make a list of all the components that could create a daily practice for you put them on slips of paper place them in a bowl and each day pull out 2-3 that you can use to create a new, unexpected practice each day for you!
Intention…make a promise to yourself to access the feminine, to be and let “it” come to you.
World Exposure… With your newfound connection between love and wisdom you will gain insight through love (not force) and build common ground with those around you. At the conclusion of each Spoga practice I invite participants to hold onto a feeling from their practice and to take it out and share it with the world. It might be as simple as looking directly into the eyes of the clerk or waitress and letting your eyes connect heart and soul, even if only for a fraction of a second.

As an activated “Goddess” you can make a difference in the world by the way you live your life. Your energy will be shifting in a way that exudes and attracts love. Is it really too much to ask yourself to choose to use 30-minutes daily to activate a Secret Weapon of this magnitude? Remember the famous quote of Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world!” As you consciously “be” the change, you are shifting and allowing the life of your dreams to unfold and, unconsciously affecting everyone you come in contact with, day after blessed day.
